Low Calorie Desserts

Only 37 Calories per Brownie!!

If you cut these brownies into 9, they are 37 calories each. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Well, take out your calculators and add up some numbers, and you’ll see it’s true. And the weirdest part about it is: they taste pretty damn good. Now, normally I'm not a fan of low-calorie desserts, because I think it’s a joke. If you’re going to eat dessert, eat. dessert.

But one of my favourite bloggers, Rosie the Londoner, put these babies up the other day and they looked so gooey and delish I just had to try them. Now, I made some changes to my liking, so if you use slightly different ingredients (regular yoghurt v Greek, etc) they may come out differently. And, as Rosie says, be sure to under cook your brownies. They taste so so so much better that way!

For the Brownies:

3/4 cup non-fat Greek yoghurt (I used Fage 0%)
1/4 cup skim milk
1/2 cup Cocoa powder
1/2 cup Old fashioned rolled oats (like Quaker)
1/2 cup Truvia (or any natural/stevia based sweetener that pours like sugar)
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt

The Process:

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a square baking dish (I used 8″x8″). Combine all ingredients into a food processor or a blender, and blend until smooth (about 1 minute). Pour into the prepared dish and bake for about 15 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting into 9 large squares.

Optional:

I added about 1/4 cup of chocolate chips to my batter, just to live dangerously. This brings the calorie count up to about 65 calories per brownie!!

Five Basic Diet Tips!

There is a lot of common sense in this video and it's made by someone who needs to look good to earn her living.

Learning tips and taking advise from someone who has a professional interest in the subject is always a good idea. Remember though, this lady is a professional model, what works for her may not be right for you or your life style.

But, as we have mentioned before, researching a subject from every possible angle helps build your own personal knowledge, which will help you make informed decisions and hopefully this will lead to a positive weight loss experience. We would strongly suggest that you make your own file containing the video's, articles and routines that you think could work for you, then mould this file into your weight loss program. Be patient when preparing this program, if you rush you will make bad choices and as a result affect your success percentage. Remember this simple rule:

"Failing to prepare is preparing to fail"..... good luck.

4 Slimming Motivation Tips

Tip 1: Think Slim

People who are overweight tend to imagine how food is going to taste and feel as they eat. In contrast, people who naturally ‘eat slim’ tend to imagine how that pie or cake will feel heavy in their stomachs for so long after they've eaten it.

Jumping from a great height might feel fun whilst it lasts, but the consequences that come after we hit the ground are what we consider when deciding not to do it.

So when you’re tempted to eat something you don’t need, practice imagining how your stomach is going to feel ten minutes or an hour after you've consumed that weight-increasing food. Keep it up until this becomes a natural habit for you.

Tip 2: Surround Yourself with Slim People

No, I'm not suggesting you dump all your less-than-slender friends. But research has shown that the average body type of the people with whom you hang out affects your weight and size (1). Start hanging around with slimmer, fitter types (perhaps at the gym) and your subconscious mind will pick up a new template for what is ‘normal’.

Tip 3: Be Fair to Yourself

Imagine someone walks up a hundred steps but feels a bit tired, so they stop and step back down one step. They tell you bitterly: “Now I may as well forget this whole idea of reaching the top! I've totally blown it!”

What?! You’d think that was crazy, right? Acting as if all that progress, the 99 steps they did climb, never happened, because they had one slip! But people do this all the time when it comes to weight loss.

You lose weight, maybe four or five pounds, maybe much more. But you slip, have a bad day or a ‘weak moment’, and eat something you shouldn't have. And what do you tell yourself? “I've completely blown it! Now I might as well really binge!”

Beware the perfectionism trap. Aim to eat sensibly and healthily most of the time, not all the time. We all consume more than we should of the wrong kind of food or drink now and then.
Everyone’s weight fluctuates a bit and you should prepare for this (once you've reached a healthy weight). Have a ‘sliding scale’ in your mind of a couple of pounds on either side of your target weight.

Tip 4: Weight Loss is Not a Cure-all

However, even as a slimmer person you’ll still have a bad day in the office, moments of self-doubt, or times when you feel undervalued.

Many people feel let down when they become slimmer and then find that being slim doesn't solve all their problems in one go. They then revert to eating poorly again. Don’t fall into this trap.

You have lots of different needs which need to be fulfilled in life. Being slimmer, healthier, and fitter is just one of them.

Diets To Stay Away From!

Fad diets can be so seductive:

They typically offer simplified shopping lists, rules that are easy to remember, and promises of big results. But do the results actually come through? It seems that no one, besides the companies offering those books and products, has really taken a comprehensive look into their effectiveness, until now.

A group of scientists decided to take a deep dive into four fad diets, Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, and Zone, to examine their effectiveness in terms of weight loss and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, particularly in the long term (or over 12 months). Their results, published this week in the journal Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes, show that not only are the diets largely ineffective, but their big claims weren't properly supported in the first place.

The researchers began by systematically searching for clinical trials of the four diets, which they chose for their popularity. Their primary goal was to find sustained weight loss after 12 months, with more minor goals being changes in body fat, body mass index, waist circumference, blood pressure, and other measures of health.

They found immediate issues with the trials they focused on, finding that the studies hadn't followed proper scientific protocol. For example, they noted that the studies typically used young, white, female, obese participants, giving the potential for bias. (What about men, or any other ethnic group?) They also found that there were very few studies that tested long-term benefits of the diets, or any results after 12 months.

Even putting all those major scientific problems aside, the diets just weren't that effective. Their mean weight loss, across all trials, hovered around six to 10 pounds, and that was just at first. By the 12-month mark, the weight was mostly regained and mirrored the participants in the control group (that is, the people who didn't diet). There was also limited change in cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

Those fad diets require a big commitment and big purchases (packaged food, books, and other products) for relatively little pay-off. The researchers noted that the weight-loss market in the U.S. made around $66 billion in 2013, which is pretty crazy if few people are seeing results.
Of course, the choice of diet is up to you. If you love your South Beach diet and feel it is helping your body, then go with it. But when the next fad diet comes along, feel free to feel suspicious, and take a look to see if there’s any unbiased science actually backing up those lofty claims. While it's not as sexy, the real solution for lasting weight-loss may just be making smarter eating and exercise choices.

7 Day Weight Loss Diet

This diet is unusual in it's style and choice of food types. We would only advise following this diet after you have taken medical advise and have researched what is involved for the seven days. Having not tried this diet I would imagine it cleanses your body in a similar way to detoxing.

If you decide to try more alternative diets, make sure you research before you start, both what is involved in the diet and what effects it may have on your body. Seven days is only a very short period of time so you have to be realistic on what results you can expect over the time period.

Variety is the spice of life, and during your weight loss journey any variations that you introduce will keep you motivated and interested.

She Lost 60 Kilograms

If you think it's difficult then you're correct, if you think it will take time then you're correct, if you think it will take sacrifice and life changes then you're correct.

If you think you need to join expensive gyms and personal trainers then you're wrong, if you think only celebrities and people who have lots of free time can do it, then you're wrong.

If you think ordinary people like you can't do it, then you're wrong. It's time to stand up and make it happen, watch this video and learn how a normal lady made a massive life style change.

If she can do it why can't you!
